Carl Barat to star in Paris opera

The career of former Libertines and Dirty Pretty Things guitarist/singer has taken an interesting direction today with the announcement that he will be performing in an opera in Paris.
Barat will play Nero in the production of Pop'pea at the Theatre du Chatelet in Paris. The opera has been changed to put rock and pop music in replacement of opera pieces. The production of the rock opera will run from May to June next year.
The news comes as Barat is also set to release an EP of rare songs. The track listing for the EP is as such.
