Huge lead nearly goes to waste as home side cling on to narrow victory.
The Brisbane Lions nearly threw away a 57-point lead going into the last quarter against the Western Bulldogs, before holding on for a tense seven point victory.
After the shock departure of coach Michael Voss during the week the Lions looked set to erase the pain in the best possible way with a dominant victory.
However, 5.4 to the Bulldogs in the final term saw them go close to causing one of the biggest come-from-behind victories of the season as they just fell short 15.10 (100) to 13.15 (93).
The win was soured by an ankle injury to Daniel Merrett who was taken to hospital for scans, but looked in pain as he came off the field and has likely played his last game for the season.
