Manchester City will have one eye on the Premier League as they travel to Bavaria to face the finest club side on the planet.
Manuel Pellegrini’s team have already qualified from the group and face a crunch meeting with league leaders Arsenal on Saturday.
But a failure to be committed against Pep Guardiola’s Bayern Munich would be foolhardy indeed, particularly after the Germans out-classed and humiliated City in the 3-1 victory at the Eastlands in October.
The holders, who have won a record 10 Champions League games on the bounce, are without Arjen Robben and Bastian Schweinsteiger through injury but captain Philipp Lahm could return after missing the 7-0 win over Werder Bremen.
Bayern, also guaranteed a spot in the knock-outs, are unlikely to take any risks but the likes of Franck Ribery, Mario Goetze, Thomas Mueller and Toni Kroos could all still start.
City will be without the suspended Yaya Toure, plus Matija Nastastic and Stevan Jovetic and are unlikely to risk David Silva in this dead rubber, particularly with Arsenal looming.
Joe Hart will again play in goal and is sure to be busy. A good performance could help the England ‘keeper go some way to retaining his place in the first team for the weekend.
The match will be live on Sky Sports with coverage starting at 7.00pm. If you don’t have a Sky subscription why not grab yourself a NOW TV Sky Sports Day Pass – Pay As You Go access to all 6 Sky Sports channels for the first time ever!
