Liverpool striker subject to mega-bucks bid from German giants.
Bayern Munich are preparing a gigantic £40 million bid for Liverpool’s Luis Suarez according to The Metro.
The Liverpool striker has attracted the attention of a number of top European clubs this season with a prolific sixteen goals in just twenty-two Premier League appearances.
The German club are runaway leaders at the top of the Bundesliga this season but are seeking to strengthen their squad in preparation for the arrival of former Barcelona manager Pep Guardiola.
Guardiola has agreed to join the German club in the summer and the Bayern management will be looking to provide him with serious backing in an attempt to secure the Champions League.
While Suarez has a good relationship with the Liverpool fans, his time in England has been dogged by controversy and it has been reported that the player feels unfairly victimised by the English press.
That may tempt the Uruguayan striker to consider Bayern’s offer as well as the German’s club genuine ability to challenge for the biggest prize in European football. By contrast, Liverpool currently sit seventh in the Premier League table, and it would take a combination of outstanding form as well as significant good luck to see them even qualify for next season’s Champions League competition.
