Manchester City travel to Camp Nou to face FC Barcelona in the second leg of the UEFA Champions League last 16, hoping to turn around a 0-2 deficit from the game at Etihad Stadium.
Like Arsenal, Man City played well until they had a man dismissed for a last man challenge, with Martin Demichelis’ red card resulting in the eleven men of Barca passing around them.
The media has suggested that Barcelona are not the team they once were, and that the Catalan side’s loss to Real Valladolid at the weekend is indication of their vulnerability.
Man City lost to lowly Wigan Athletic on Sunday too though, so are in equally mixed form.
Manuel Pellegrini has long been renowned as an attacking coach, and more ambition will be required from the team than in the first leg with a minimum of two away goals required.
At the Etihad Stadium, Pellegrini deployed Aleksandar Kolarov in midfield, and was unable to call upon first choice striker Sergio Aguero, or in form playmaker Samir Nasri, who was only fit enough for the bench.
Manchester City can beat any team in the world on top of their game, and an historic night will be required to overcome FC Barcelona at Camp Nou.
The match will be live on Sky Sports with coverage starting at 7pm. If you don’t have a Sky subscription why not grab yourself a NOW TV Sky Sports Day Pass – Pay As You Go access to all 6 Sky Sports channels for the first time ever!
