The Fourth Test of the Ashes between Australia and England has been perhaps the most intriguing of the series so far – even if there is nothing to play for with the hosts already 3-0 up.
At first Australia appeared in command, bowling England out for the relatively low total of 255, but the tourists fought back, and got Australia all out for 179.
Suddenly England looked well in command, and looked to be batting well in their second innings, thanks to an impressive early 50 from captain Alastair Cook, but two separate collapses put them in trouble.
First England lost three wickets for just a single run in Michael Carberry, Joe Root and Ian Bell, but they pulled themselves together and got to 173 for the loss of just one further wicket.
However, again England were undone, with Jonny Bairstow, Tim Bresnan, Stuart Broad, Kevin Pietersen and Monty Panesar all going for just six runs.
The MCG pitch has proven a good hunting ground for bowlers though, and while Australia have reached 30-0 and require just 201 runs to claim victory, all is not yet lost for England.
