Walcott’s current deal expires at the end of the season and the 23-year-old has been linked with moves to Premier League rivals Manchester United, Liverpool and Chelsea.
But a well-respected Arsenal-related twitter account, GeoffArsenal, took to the social networking site to reveal that the forward had finally agreed a new deal at the Emirates Stadium, ending months of speculation.
The news was greeted by Arsenal fans with delight across twitter, particularly as “Geoff” has been credited with confirming several major signings in the past, including the arrival of Spaniard Santi Cazorla this summer.
Walcott joined Arsenal from Southampton in 2006 and the England international has gone on to make over 200 appearances from the Gunners.
The player has reportedly been demanding up to £100,000 per week and a position as a central striker – demands boss Arsene Wenger was unwilling to bow to until now.
