Villa going nowhere, say La Liga giants.
Arsenal have been told to forget about making an audacious loan move for Barcelona striker David Villa.
The Spanish striker, 31, is out-of-favour at the Nou Camp.
Arsene Wenger has made bolstering his strikeforce a priority in January – with Villa among his wish-list.
The Gunners boss was left reeling after top target Klaas-Jan Huntelaar opted to stay with Schalke.
But Villa will not be heading to the Emirates, according to Barcelona director of football Andoni Zubizarreta. He said: “In January we will keep Villa.
“It is important to remember that Barcelona is a club that habitually does not accept offers for star players in January.”

David Villa is one gift Arsenal fans will not be receiving this Christmas, after Barcelona confirmed the Spaniard is staying at the Nou Camp.
Villa is one of a number of big-name forwards to be linked with a move to the Emirates during this festive season but Gunners boss Arsene Wenger appears to be no closer to solving his striker shortage.
Klaas-Jan Huntelaar has signed a new deal with Schalke, while Fernando Llorente is understood to be in talks with Serie A giants Juventus.
Villa, 31, is a decent fit for Arsenal. The Spain international has been at bit-part player for high-flying Barca so far this season, starting just six La Liga games, with the likes of Pedro, Alexis Sanchez and Christian Tello vying for a place alongside Lionel Messi.
But the former Valencia striker has still found the net five times, proving the striker’s instinct that saw him score for fun at the Mestalla has not deserted him, despite an eight month injury lay-off.
Villa will be desperate for first-team football and still has the ability to make a serious impact at a club like Arsenal, particularly with service from the likes of Santi Cazorla, Mikel Arteta and Jack Wilshere.
