Arsenal manager, Arsene Wenger, is desperate to land Barcelona striker David Villa and will make one last attempt to sign him according to The Daily Mail.

The Gunners boss is keen to land the former Valencia star and is troubled by the news that Manchester City have apparently entered the race for the player’s signature.
That has prompted Wenger to make an impassioned plea to the club’s chief executive Ivan Gazidis to loosen the purse strings in a bid to secure a deal.
Arsenal have been famously frugal in recent seasons as they have sought to pay off the debt accumulated as a result of the construction of the Emirates stadium. But with that reportedly now paid off, Wenger is keen to see Arsenal flex their financial muscle in order to propel them back amongst the Premier League’s best teams.
Villa is reportedly keen to join Arsenal, but the North London club will need to improve on the £14 million they have bid so far.
Manchester City have reportedly employed the use of their former Barcelona officials Ferran Soriano and Txiki Begiristain to persuade the Catalan club to sell the Spanish international but it is thought they would be willing to also negotiate with Arsenal should the Gunners match any bid coming out of the Etihad Stadium.
