Russian club Rubin Kazan have already have a £9.6m offer accepted by the Ligue 1 outfit, while QPR have also been in talks for the 22-year-old.
Rennes’ general manager Pierre Dreossi admitted the club want his situation resolved this weekend and revealed a fresh bid has come from England – but would only confirm that it was not from Newcastle.
“The new English club? This is not Newcastle – but no matter, M’Vila will leave and it will be finished before Saturday’s game,” the Frenchman is quoted as saying by Sky Sports.
“It is complicated, but we are still in negotiations,” continued Dreossi.
“It is not agreed yet, there are delays in payment, everything. I hope we will find a solution.
“Also a new offer came in England and that could be interesting but Rubin Kazan is the priority, and we are negotiating.
“I expect the player to tell me he has reached an agreement with the club so we can finish the negotiations.”
Dreossi stressed that Premier League basement club QPR are out of the running for M’Vila, adding: “QPR? I met with them for a long time [on Monday] but I think they will withdraw and I have not heard from them since.
Tottenham, Fulham and Reading have all been linked with moves for the 22-cap France international.
Although Dreossi claimed Rubin are the ‘priority’, it is understood that M’Vila favours a move to a Premier League club with Champions League prospects, making Spurs and Arsenal his most likely destinations.
