Freiburg youngster rules out Emirates Stadium switch.
German teenager Matthias Ginter has ruled out joining Arsenal, insisting he is “100 per cent” staying with Freiburg.
The versatile defender has been linked with a move to the Emirates Stadium this summer, with reports claiming the 19-year-old was set for a medical in North London after the Gunners agreed a £6.1m fee with Freiburg.
But Ginter, a German under-21 international, reacted angrily to the speculation, telling Eurosport: “There’s nothing to it. I do not know where this information comes from. I even read that I should have been in London for medical. This is complete nonsense.”
The youngster, who can play at centre-half or defensive midfielder, added that he was fully committed to Freiburg, having come through the ranks at the Mage Solar Stadion.
“I’ve spent eight years at Freiburg, I’ve been through all youth teams and feel really good. There is also no reason at all to switch to another club this summer. I can say 100 percent that I will stay at Freiburg.”
