Paul Pogba has told reporters that he has no intention yet of leaving the Serie A club
Arsenal have been dealt a blow in their bid to sign Juventus midfielder Paul Pogba this summer, after the young midfielder has publicly committed his future to the Serie A champions.
Pogba had been linked with a move to the Emirates recently after a string of fine performances for the Italian side, including some remarkable goals despite his position as anchor player.
Sir Alex Ferguson warned the youngster against leaving Manchester United for Serie A due to the racist abuse he would receive in Italy, but the French international insists he will be playing at Juventus stadium next season.
“I’m good at Juventus but I want to focus only on the World Cup,” he is quoted as saying by Sky Sports.
“On my future I have no news, so of course I will stay at Juventus.”
Pogba joined Juventus last season on a free transfer, after leaving Premier League side Manchester United having been unable to break into the first team on a regular basis.
Arsenal willing to spend big this summer and Pogba was thought to have been highlighted by Wenger as a high priority acquisition in the transfer market.
The Gunners remain in desperate need of a physical defensive midfielder for their Premier League title aspirations next season, but it appears that Arsene Wenger may have to look elsewhere.
