Rumours are rife that Arsenal forward Olivier Giroud will leave the Emirates after the striker held secret talks with an influential football agent last week, the Daily Mail reports.
The Frenchman met UK-based adviser Muzzi Ozcan at Aubaine restaurant on Thursday evening, and had a 45 minute conversation. Ozcan is not Giroud’s contracted agent, but has close ties with PSG and Galatasaray, having brokered the deal that saw Roberto Mancini take over as manager last summer.
Giroud is Arsenal’s first choice centre-forward, and he’s influential in his ability to hold up the ball in the final third. His finishing quality has occasionally been brought into question however, and he’s only managed 12 league goals despite starting 26 matches this term.
The Gunners have been strongly linked with a summer move for Italian maverick Mario Balotelli (who himself has only scored 10 league goals this term), so there seems to be an increasing possibility that Giroud will be plying his trade somewhere else next term.
