Arsenal playmaker Mesut Ozil can make the same impact on the Gunners as Ronaldinho had at FC Barcelona and Zinedine Zidane enjoyed at Real Madrid.
Mesut Ozil can define an era for Arsenal in the way Zinedine Zidane did for Real Madrid and Ronaldinho did for FC Barcelona, says the German’s club team-mate Santi Cazorla.
Ozil has been in stunning form for the Gunners ever since moving to the north London club for a club record transfer fee of £42.4 million, scoring three times and providing four assists in his eight games so far.
Cazorla has played just twice alongside Ozil, starting with the German against Norwich City in the Barclays Premier League and coming on as a substitute to feature with the 25 year-old against Borussia Dortmund in the UEFA Champions League.
“We have got to know each other and I have to say that it is very easy to have a good understanding with a great player like him, since our playing philosophy is very similar,” Cazorla told the official Arsenal website.
“As the days go by we have a better association on the pitch. Personally I am very happy to have Mesut as a team-mate. He is a great signing and everyone enjoys the way he plays.
“Mesut is a player of a different kind. He is a joy to watch and has a lot of talent. Like Zidane or Ronaldinho, he can be one of those players who marks an era.
“He is not the kind of player you are used to watching and he can win many games on his own. That’s why he is a top player.
