Wilshere says the midfielder will be ready to play by Saturday.
It was a difficult night for Arsenal on Tuesday as the club were brought back to reality with a bump with a 1-2 home defeat to Borussia Dortmund in the Champions League.
Not only that but midfielder Jack Wilshere damaged the Englishman’s foot whilst chasing down a through ball and was forced off the pitch in the 58th minute.
A history of long-term injuries means any incident like this is a heart in the mouth moment for both Gunners fans and manager Arsene Wenger.
However, the 21-year-old insists that with the foot simply being swollen that the England international will be fit to face Crystal Palace in the Premier League on Saturday, reports the Guardian.
Wenger is also happy with this prognosis, but has learned from past events that rushing Wilshere back to action is no good to anybody and may still rest the Englishman as a precaution.
Both Mathieu Flamini and Santi Cazorla should both be available to the Frenchman at Selhurst Park after recovering from their own knocks and therefore options are aplenty.
The boss will want the side to bounce back with a win against 19th-placed Palace after the disappointment of losing to Dortmund, having not tasted defeat since the very first day of the season.
Since that 1-3 loss to Aston Villa the north London club have been on an incredible run of victories in all competitions and sit top of the league.
Yet Wenger needs the side to not get too disheartened by the close Dortmund game – in which the home team could have easily won – and get back to winning ways immediately.
