Ozil is getting criticised from all corners.
Arsenal’s second largest shareholder Alisher Usmanov has revealed his disappointment with Mesut Ozil’s display against Bayern Munich in the first leg of their UEFA Champions League last 16 clash.
The Gunners started wonderfully, and had the holders of Europe’s top tier competition on the ropes when they were awarded a penalty after just nine minutes.
Ozil had his effort from twelve yards saved by Manuel Neuer in the visitors’ goal, and his subsequent form throughout the game suggested he was well aware at how big an opportunity he had squandered, struggling with the weight of the pressure on his shoulders.
Usmanov, who was in attendance at Emirates Stadium, was asked his thoughts on the performance club’s record signing, and offered the following words.
“My view?” Usmanov is quoted as telling the Guardian. “Less than his capacity.”
