Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger is readying an opening bid for Man United pair Javier Hernandez and Nani with the North London club set to offer £22m for the duo.
CaughtOffside understands that Wenger’s interest in the duo dates back to last season and that the Frenchman even spoke directly to former boss Sir Alex Ferguson about the availability of the duo.
Wenger is keen to strengthen his attack and sees Mexican international Hernandez as the ideal man for the job. Given that the 25-year-old is restricted to nothing more than occasional appearances at Old Trafford, a move to Arsenal would surely tempt the instinctive finisher.
Arsene Wenger is ready to make a move for Chicharito knowing that the Guadalajara born striker is proven at Premier League level and no doubt keen to secure the level of regular football Arsenal would be able to offer the forward.
Nani has been on the Emirates Stadium radar for the best part of two years and the Portuguese winger appears ready to consider his options, despite only recently signing a new contract in September.
Under David Moyes, the 26-year-old was hopeful of securing a more prominent role in the Man United starting eleven, especially given the average form shown by Luis Antonio Valencia and Ashley Young – but Nani has been handed just four Premier League starts this season.
With Theo Walcott and Lukas Podolski struggling with injuries and Gervinho having been sold to AS Roma, Wenger is looking to bring in further wide attacking options and is ready to make a long awaited bid for Nani, who is said to be keen on a move to join the Gunners.
