Gunners ready to pay big for promising youngster.
Arsenal could be set to fork out a massive £25m to sign highly-rated Everton defender John Stones this January, according to CaughtOffside.
The Gunners are on the lookout for defensive reinforcements after losing Thomas Vermaelen to Barcelona this summer, and Stones now appears to be Arsene Wenger’s main target.
The 20-year-old is one of the most highly rated young players in England at the moment, having shone for Everton and the senior national side of late.
Chelsea and Manchester United have also shown an interest in Stones, but it now looks as though Arsenal could storm to the front of the queue with a very tempting £25m offer.
The Toffees are not known for letting their best players go easily, with another top starlet, Ross Barkley, already valued at around £50m by the Merseyside club.
