How the Gunners are likely to start against the Blues…
Arsenal know if they are to have any chance of the title, they cannot afford to lose this match. Here’s the side we think Arsene Wenger will go for…
Watch the top 10 best Arsenal games of all time.
GK – Wojciech Szczesny
The first-choice Polish keeper will start between the sticks in Arsene Wenger’s 1,000th game in charge.
RB – Bacary Sagna
The back four has pretty much selected itself this season for Arsenal. Sagna starts at right-back, and has the unenviable task of dealing with Eden Hazard down Chelsea’s left.
CB – Per Mertesacker
The giant German will have to be careful not to push up too high, as he probably won’t be able to catch Samuel Eto’o or Hazard if they get in behind.
CB – Laurent Koscielny
Koscielny was superb against Spurs last time out, and his manager will expect a similarly composed performance this time out at Stamford Bridge. Club captain Thomas Vermaelen should start from the bench.
LB – Kieran Gibbs
Gibbs likes to surge forward up the left flank, but away to Chelsea, his manager will have no doubt reminded him of defensive responsibilities.
