The former assistant has been diagnosed with cancer.
The news that former Arsenal player and assistant manager Pat Rice is battling with cancer has been met with messages of sadness and support from the football community.
Gunners players of past and present, as well as renowned sports journalists and celebrities have take to Twitter to send their best wishes to the 64-year-old.
Manager Arsene Wenger worked alongside the Northern Irishman for 12 years in north London and is a close friend of Rice.
“Not only do we love him but of course we are very grateful for what he has done here. We are in touch with him but I trust his legendary strengths to get over that,” Wenger told the club’s website.
“I’m confident that he still has the fighting spirit he always had to get over that and that he will come out in a successful way.”
Both current and former players who worked with Rice at Highbury and the Emirates Stadium were quick to send their own support to the club great.
