Arsenal will target Real Madrid pair Angel Di Maria and Karim Benzema in what could be a huge summer transfer window for the Gunners, reports CaughtOffside.
Last summer, Arsene Wenger sanctioned a £42m monster deal to bring German Mesut Ozil to the Emirates, and despite the 25-year-old arguably failing to live up to expectations and price tag, the French boss willing to raid the Bernabeu again.
According to the report, the pair could be available for a combined £70m.
Benzema has scored 25 goals in all competitions, and formed a devastating partnership up top with Gareth Bale and Cristiano Ronaldo playing either side of him.
Manager Carlo Ancelotti though is keen on one of Premier League duo Sergio Aguero or Luis Suarez – and Benzema could become surplus to requirements if Los Blancos can acquire one of the South American forwards.
Angel Di Maria has been used predominantly as a central midfielder this term due to the form of Madrid’s front three, and although he’s provided regular assists from this position, he’d undeniably prefer to be given a more advanced attacking role.
Arsenal’s season has crashed in 2014, after leading the Premier League table for much of the term. They now face a genuine battle for a fourth place finish, and fans are desperate for the club to sign some established internationals in time for next season.
