Rivals set to battle it out for January signing.
Arsenal and Manchester United are chasing the signing of Aston Villa defender Ron Vlaar, and have been told that he will cost £12m, according to the Daily Express.
The Dutch international is currently stalling on signing a new contract at Villa Park, and could walk away from the club on a free transfer at the end of this season.
This has led to much speculation around his future, and it has been suggested that the 29-year-old could leave on a cut-price deal this January as top clubs circle.
However, Villa are supposedly still keen to bring in a big fee for the player, and it remains to be seen if Arsenal and United will pay that for a player they could sign for free in just a few months.
