There are 71 members currently in the new initiative.
To reward loyalty to Arsenal stars who have played more than 100 league matches for the side the ‘100 Club’ has been launched.
At its initial launch party 71 retired players ranging from Jens Lehmann to 88-year-old Alex Forbes have been added to the list.
Club legends such as Bob Wilson, Lauren and David O’Leary were present to be added to the list, with a further 20 to be given the status when they retire – including ‘Invincibles’ stars Thierry Henry and Ashley Cole, along with current Manchester United ace Robin Van Persie and Aaron Ramsey.
O’Leary holds the appearance record for the Gunners with 558 league games played for the north London side, while ex-skipper Tony Adams is a very close second.
Wilson is on the committee with other former stars Pat Rice and Frank McLintock and welcomed the members.
“The Club was very receptive when Pat Rice, Frank McLintock and I started to talk through how such a large group of ex-players could still feel engaged and part of The Arsenal in its present day existence, and we are beyond delighted to be here today at the launch of this very special club,” the goalkeeping legend told the club’s website.
“Arsenal is a club steeped in history, tradition and class, and I know that every member of The 100 Club is delighted to have a continued official connection.
“We’re one big family and are very much looking forward to seeing the familiar faces at Emirates Stadium on a matchday and at future events.”
