Matchball in game against Swansea supplied by the visitors.
Arsenal may have delighted their fans this week by insisting they have money to spend and our no longer shackled by having to finance the Emirates Stadium.
But their transfer targets and Theo Walcott’s contract negotiations are clearly still having a strain on the club’s finances as in last night’s FA Cup game, it was clearly Swansea who provided the match ball, reports The Daily Mail.
Pictures of the ball in the first half clearly show ‘SCFC’ emblazoned across the side of the yellow and blue Umbro football.
Arsene Wenger insisted his side were ready to compete with the big boys, saying ‘My plan is to keep all the players we have and then to add maybe, if possible, two new players to the squad. We will spend big because we had restricted finances because we had built the stadium and had to pay back.’
‘You look at any club who has done that, and they have gone down (in terms of their performances). We stayed at the top level, yes without winning the Premier League, but we were always at the top level. Now we have come out in a much stronger position financially again, so we can spend.’
Arsene may be better off speaking to Newcastle owner Mike Ashley to see if he can get some discount at Sports Direct for some new matchballs first!
