It has been widely reported that Arsenal are searching for another goalkeeper to challenge current staple Wojciech Szczesny for his first team slot, in the hope that it will spur on the young Poland international to reach his full potential.
Ruffier would be a good choice for this role, as he has arguably been the best goalkeeper in Ligue 1 over the last two seasons.
He has a single France cap to his name but multiple squad call ups in that time, travelling to the 2010 World Cup but not playing.
Since then, he has been unable to oust Tottenham Hotspur goalkeeper from the national side, but if he could claim the number one jersey at north London rivals Arsenal, he could well do so internationally too.
