Manchester United
Goalkeeper – Peter Schmeichel, 1991 to 1999: To many the ‘Great Dane’ is the greatest ‘keeper ever to have played the game and Schmeichel was pivotal in the famous treble success of 1999.
Right-back – Roger Byrne, 1951 to 1958: Was among the eight United players who tragically lost their life in the Munich Air Disaster in 1958, yet is still regarded as one of the best full-backs in English history.
Centre-back – Steve Bruce, 1987 to 1996: Not a fashionable player by any means and is known by many now as a chubby-faced manager, but Bruce was a stalwart in Sir Alex Ferguson’s original Red Devils defence.
Centre-back – Nemanja Vidic, 2006 to present: The current captain has announced he is leaving in the summer and that will end over eight years of success, with five league titles and the Champions League.
Left-back – Duncan Edwards, 1953 to 1958: One of the greatest ‘what if’ questions in English football as Edwards also died in Munich aged just 21, yet already having played over 150 times for the club and was tipped to be a future United and England captain.
Right wing – George Best, 1963 to 1974: Regarded by many as the greatest player ever to don a Red Devils shirt, Best was described by Pele as the best footballer of all time.
Central midfield – Sir Bobby Charlton, 1956 to 1973: Was the professional to Best’s maverick and is also the club’s top-scorer with 249 goals and is England’s as well with 49.
Central midfield – Roy Keane, 1993 to 2005: Although the Irishman left Old Trafford after falling out with Ferguson, Keane was still one of the greatest (if not the greatest) skipper the club ever had.
Left wing – Ryan Giggs, 1991 to present: The winger’s career is remarkable and at 40-years-old Giggs is still in the first team, having won 13 league titles, two Champions Leagues and four FA Cups.
Striker – Eric Cantona, 1992 to 1997: Only spent a short time with United in the big scheme of things, but changed everything with four titles in five years and a display of genius on the pitch.
Striker – Denis Law, 1962 to 1973: Law completes the Englishman, Irishman, Scotsman trio with Best and Charlton and was a deadly goal-scorer with 237 goals in 404 matches.

Verdict
As good as the Gunners side is, the fact that players such as Paul Scholes and Cristiano Ronaldo couldn’t even get in the United XI shows just how strong they are and on that basis, we think the Red Devils win this one.
