Arsenal clear favourites with bookies to bring FC Barcelona playmaker Cesc Fabregas back to Emirates Stadium in transfer window.
Arsenal have been installed as favourites to sign Cesc Fabregas from FC Barcelona for the second time.
The Spain international midfielder was poached from the Catalan club’s La Masia academy as a teenager, and broke into the Gunners first team at the age of just 16.
Fabregas spent eight years at the north London side, eventually being appointed captain by manager Arsene Wenger, before returning to Barcelona for an initial fee of £35 million.
For much of the past summer, the 26 year-old was linked with a return to the Premier League, with new Manchester United boss David Moyes publicly speaking of his interest in signing the Spaniard, and Wenger responding by doubting the possibility of a move going ahead.
However, a recent flurry of bets on Fabregas’ next club being his old team Arsenal has seen bookmaker Paddy Power respond by making the Gunners clear favourites to bring him back to Emirates Stadium.
Fabregas re-signing for Arsenal has odds of 5/6, clearly ahead of a Manchester United move at 3/1, and reunion with former Barca manager Pep Guardiola at Bayern Munich transfer at 16/1.
