Gunners switch focus to young playmaker.
Arsenal are considering a move for highly-rated Paris Saint-Germain midfielder Marco Verratti, according to Fichajes.net.
The Italian international is widely regarded as one of the most promising young players in Europe at the moment, having shone for PSG and his national side in recent times to attract rumoured interest from the likes of Manchester United and Real Madrid.
Arsenal have recently been linked with Verratti’s PSG team-mate Adrien Rabiot, though reports now suggest that the French teenager is set to move to AS Roma instead.
This could see the Gunners target Verratti as they eye a new signing in the middle of the park and a long-term successor to club captain Mikel Arteta in that deep-lying midfield playmaker role.
Verratti is currently said to be in talks over a new contract at the Parc des Princes.
