Former striker set to return to North London.
Arsenal legend Dennis Bergkamp is in the frame to make a sensational return to the club as Liam Brady’s replacement, according to the Daily Mirror.
QPR vs Arsenal tickets are now available for the London derby at Loftus Road on 4 May!
Brady will stand down from his role as head of the club’s youth academy at the end of his current contract in 2014.
The 56-year-old former player has been in the post for over fifteen years and will remain at the Emirates as a consultant.
And Bergkamp, who is currently gaining a growing reputation in coaching as Frank de Boer’s assistant at Eredivisie Champions Ajax, is the man the club want to replace Brady.
The Iceman scored 120 goals for the North London club between 1995 and 2006 and is one of the favourite sons of the Arsenal faithful.
Brady has nurtured talents such as Ashley Cole, Cesc Fabregas, Jack Wilshere and Kieran Gibbs through the Gunners youth system but former Netherlands international Bergkamp impressed during his coaching stint with Ajax’s famed academy before earning the job as De Boer’s number two.
Arsenal chief executive Ivan Gazidis said: “it will be difficult to find a worthy successor but we will be looking for someone who can build on what Liam and his team have created.”
