Wenger not leaving the Emirates Stadium.
Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger has dismissed speculation linking him with the manager’s job at Bundesliga outfit Schalke.
Newcastle vs Arsenal tickets are now available for the match at St James’ Park on 19 May!
Jens Keller is just two games into his tenure at the Veltins Arena, after former boss Ralf Rangnick quit at the end of last year.
Wenger was surprisingly linked with the under-achieving German club by Goal.com earlier this week but he Frenchman dismissed the speculation however and told reporters he is totally committed to the Gunners.
“No,” he said, when asked if the Schalke link was genuine ahead of Arsenal’s FA Cup fourth-round tie at Brighton on Saturday.
“I have a contract here and I will respect my commitment to this club, always. The Bundesliga has a very interesting championship but the Premier League I think is a better one.”
Arsenal have gone eight years since their last trophy under Wenger and despite finishing in the Premier League top four in every season since the Frenchman took charge, some fans have called for the former Monaco man’s head.
The Gunners face the prospect of failing to qualify for the Champions League for the first time since 1998, with the Emirates Stadium club currently trailing fourth-placed Tottenham by four points.
They are also 19 points behind leaders Manchester United, meaning there is little prospect of claiming a first league title since 2004, when the side went unbeaten throughout the whole campaign.
