Newcastle forward is not Emirates Stadium bound, says Wenger.
Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger has ruled out a January move for Newcastle striker Demba Ba.
Ba reportedly has a £7.5m release clause and the prolific striker has been linked with a move away from St James’ Park next month.
The Senagelese forward has been on fine form for Newcastle this season, adding 11 goals to the 16 he scored last term.
Newcastle manager Alan Pardew admitted on Thursday that Ba would be sold if he refused to sign a new deal at the Toon club but Wenger has denied he is headed for the Emirates Stadium.
“I like Demba Ba, yes,” Wenger told the BBC.
“If you ask me ‘do we sign Demba Ba?’ I say no.”
The Frenchman added: “I don’t think [this] is the right place to speak about that, because he plays against us [on Saturday].
“I wouldn’t like to put Newcastle or us or him in an uncomfortable position.”
Arsenal are one of a number of clubs who have been linked with the Senegal striker who joined Newcastle on a three-year deal from West Ham in June 2011.
