Wenger happy with current options but could still sign one striker this week.
Arsene Wenger has insisted that he is happy with Arsenal’s current crop of strikers but the Frenchman has not given up hope of a last-minute deal to sign another forward.

The Gunners boss ruled out a deal for Barcelona’s David Villa on Tuesday but fans remain agitated about the club’s lack of firepower, as Arsenal battle arch-rivals Tottenham and Wednesday night’s opponents Liverpool for a place in the Premier League top four.
Last season’s top scorer Robin van Persie joined rivals Man United in August but Theo Walcott has been on fine form for the Gunners in a central striking role this term, while Olivier Giroud has netted 13 goals in his debut season in English football.
Giroud’s fellow summer signing Lukas Podolski has played largely wide left however, while wingers Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and Gervinho have struggled to contribute goals.
Wenger says he is happy with his current crop of forwards but hinted the North London club could still enter the market if a top player is available.
“As numbers we have enough. We have plenty of quality strikers. We could do with top quality, one more, but you have to find him,” Wenger is quoted as saying by the Daily Mirror.
“No [I don’t see it as a problem]. When you speak about ‘anyone’ coming in, I could just go out and buy anyone just to give people hope.
“What is important is that you bring in players who can strengthen your team, or you do nothing and are strong enough to do nothing.
“That is what is important for us, to bring in a player who can strengthen the squad. ‘Anyone’ to me means exactly what today the modern game has become.
“If Walcott had left, everybody would have said, ‘You lost a top striker.’
“Giroud is getting there, I believe. He has started 11 Premier League games and scored eight goals. In all competitions he has 14 goals. Overall, he is slowly getting there.
“If you look at the Africa Cup of Nations, the best striker is Gervinho and after [him] we have one or two good young players who will get a chance.
“Then Podolski! I forgot Podolski, who we bought to play as a central striker, so we have quality strikers.
“If you look at the number of goals we’ve scored, we’ve scored more than last year, when we had the best striker in the Premier League. That means the players who play have some qualities to score goals.”
