Wenger increases speculation that Arsenal are set to bring midfielder to the Emirates Stadium.
Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger has admitted his admiration for West Ham enforcer Mohamed Diame, fuelling speculation the Gunners could bid for the 25-year-old before the end of the month.

The Gunners have been repeatedly linked with the Senegalese midfielder, who is enjoying a fine season with the Hammers and has a release clause of just £3.5m.
A long-term injury to Abou Diaby had left Wenger short of options in defensive midfield and, although the France international is now fit, it is understood that Wenger is still keen to bring in a player who can add steel to his stylish yet flimsy side.
Speaking in a press conference ahead of Wednesday’s Premier League clash with West Ham, the Frenchman said of Diame: “‘He has a great presence in the games, I have seen him have a big impact.”
Diame caught the eye with a match-changing and goalscoring performance from the bench in the Hammers’ 3-1 win over Chelsea last month and Wenger confirmed the player’s performance had impressed him.
“He was very dangerous against Chelsea. He can drive the midfield, yes,” Wenger told Arsenal.com.
The Gunners, who sold Alex Song to Barcelona for £15m in the summer, have been linked with a host of defensive midfielders, but Wenger reportedly believes former Wigan star Diame represents the best value for money.
Fulham, Everton and Chelsea are also thought to be tracking the Senegal international.
