Arsenal hopes of bringing midfield star to Emirates Stadium in January transfer window receive welcome boost.
Toulouse have suspended their star midfielder Moussa Sissoko after he revealed he had no intention of signing a new contract with the club – heightening reports that he could leave this month for Arsenal.

Club chairman Olivier Sadran seems to have taken offence to Sissoko’s decision, taking the rather drastic step of suspending him even though he is well within his rights to see out his deal.
The splendidly named Toulouse manager Alain Casanova stood by the decision.
“The whole club shows full solidarity to that chairman’s decision,” said Casanova to French publication L’Equipe.
“It is really a shame a player educated at the club could leave as free agent. His absence is big loss for the team, but that decision is logical.”
Reports Sissoko will move to Arsenal will likely now gather momentum, with Toulouse likely to want to shift the 23 year-old as soon as possible given that without playing time he is now merely a drain on the club’s wage bill.
However, though Sissoko has a similar build to former Gunner Patrick Vieira, he is not the midfield general the club are perhaps looking for this month.
Cissoko only makes 1.6 tackles on average per game in central midfield, and has a closer playing style to Abou Diaby.
Club colleague Etienne Capoue would be a better option for the enforcer role.
However, with Cissoko likely available on the cheap, he could represent a decent signing for the Gunners nonetheless – particularly given Diaby’s injury record.
