How the stars from west London played in a cagey affair with their rivals.
Monday night football pitted two of the early Premier League title contenders as Arsenal hosted London rivals Chelsea at the Emirates Stadium.
It was clear that both sides were desperate not to lose and in the end the 0-0 draw that was played out was probably a fair result.
Here’s how the Blues stars rated in north London:
Petr Cech – 7
Had little to do in the game, although when called upon as Olivier Giroud got on the end of Kieran Gibbs cross, did extremely well to get enough on it to deflect it over the bar.
Branislav Ivanovic – 7
Retruning to the side after suspension and did well to keep Mesut Ozil quiet out on the left flank, although nearly let tempers boil over with the German.
Gary Cahill – 7
As expected was preferred in this crunch match ahead of David Luiz and the England international earned the place with a solid performance.
John Terry – 8
Another strong display from the captain who is relishing being reinstated back in the starting XI by manager Jose Mourinho.
Cesar Azpilicueta – 7
If the Spaniard keeps playing like this at left-back then Ashley Cole is going to have to wait even longer to get back into the team, with Azpilicueta doing well to snuff out Theo Walcott.
