Joshua has 12 wins in 12 fights as a professional, all coming by way of knockout, but the Olympic gold medallist takes a real step up in quality of opposition on Saturday night.
His rival has never been stopped and what makes that achievement particularly impressive is the fact that he has been in the ring with the likes of Dereck Chisora, Tyson Fury and Vitali Klitschko.
However, the American veteran says things are different for this bout as he is 100 percent ready to produce a huge upset as he has been training in the UK for the past four weeks.
While he attempted to keep the location of his training camp secret, it has now been revealed that he has been with Peter Fury in Manchester while sparring with his nephew as they have seemingly been helping plot the downfall of Joshua.
That undoubtedly adds extra intrigue to this bout, and it remains to be seen whether or not Johnson can back up his talk with action in the ring as he has claimed this week that he will knock Joshua out.
Johnson has also insisted that he won’t get hurt by Joshua as the Brit “has no power” and has labelled him a “media hype job”. It is unclear as to what reaction we’ll get from Joshua given that this is the first time that he has faced serious trash talk from an opponent, but he appears to be fully focused on getting another win.
Prediction: For all of Johnson’s talk, it is likely to all change the second he gets tagged by a Joshua shot. This will go longer than any of the Brit’s previous fights and may even go the distance, but the 25-year-old should be confident of protecting his unbeaten record and moving on to bigger and better things.
Joshua and Johnson are expected to ring walk at 10:00pm (UK time)
