Essendon has turned down Port Adelaide’s first pick in the AFL draft in exchange for wantaway ruckman Paddy Ryder.
Ryder has reportedly chosen the Power as his preferred destination, however the Bombers have rejected Port’s offer of pick no.16 in the November draft.
Port Adelaide list manager Jason Cripps confirmed Essendon had turned down the Power’s first offer, but said the two clubs would continue to find a fair deal.
“Kenny (Hinkley) put our first pick on the table last week on radio, so that’s certainly the case,” Cripps told SEN Radio on Friday morning.
“At this stage they’ve knocked that back and we’ll continue to work through with them in terms of what they’re actually hoping to get.
“We’ll work together and find out what they are hoping to achieve in terms of improving their list.”
