Defender Ryan Schoenmakers will remain with Hawthorn despite interest from rival club in Adelaide and Fremantle.
Hawks football operations manager Chris Fagan said the club was delighted to hold onto the 23-year-old.
“We’re very pleased Ryan has decided to continue to play on with Hawthorn,” he said in a statement.
“We’re happy that he will remain a Hawk and we look forward to him making a significant contribution to the team next year.”
Schoenmakers played 15 games this season but was pushed out of the senior side in September and played no part in the Hawks’ finals campaign.
He’ll face even stiffer competition for a starting spot in 2015 after the Hawks signed star Melbourne defender James Frawley.
