Carlton have confirmed its interest in Sydney Swans young-gun Tom Mitchell.
The 21-year-old has struggled to nail down a starting spot in the Swans’ senior lineup, playing just six games in 2014 following a breakout season in 2013 where he managed 14 games.
Blues football operations manager Andrew McKay told SEN Radio the club would pursue its interest in the midfielder if he decides to leave the Swans in search for more playing time.
“We’re not actively trying to pull him out of Sydney by any stretch of the imagination but Tom’s obviously a very good player in a very good club,” McKay said on Friday morning.
“So, he’s in and out of the team quite often.
“We haven’t been active, but certainly the Mitchell’s understand our stance there.”
