Carlton have conceded that out-of-contract midfielder Kane Lucas could be used as trade bait, despite the fact he is still wanted at Visy Park.
Lucas only played seven games in 2014, in comparison to his 17 in 2013.
Blues list manager Shane Rogers said the 23-year-old was still wanted by the club, but until he signed a contract he could be considered to be on the trade table.
“Kane’s looking for opportunities, he’s not 100 per cent on the trade table but he is out of contract,” Rogers said.
“Most players and their managers will put them on the table regardless.
“Until Kane gets signed, (that he’s up for trade is) probably something that could be said.”
In other Carlton trade news, the Blues are believed to be inching closer to a deal with Western Bullogs forward Liam Jones.
