The Adelaide Crows have denied approaching Hawthorn’s Alastair Clarkson to coach the side in 2015.
Former Crows player Andrew Jarman said Clarkson will sign a five-year deal to coach the AFL club, but he later retracted his statement.
The rumour prompted Adelaide to issue a statement denying they had approached Clarkson, who will coach the Hawks against Sydney in tomorrow’s grand final.
“To suggest the club would contact a rival coach during grand final week is simply wrong,” the Crows said in a statement.
John Worsfold yesterday ruled himself out of the job, and it now seems Swans assistant Stuart Dew is the favourite to land the Crows gig.
