AC will not raid Serie A rivals for midfield star.
AC Milan president Adriano Galliani has insisted that AC Milan have no interest in Roma midfielder Daniele De Rossi, paving the way for Manchester City to swoop in January.
Milan have been linked with a shock move for Roma midfielder De Rossi in recent weeks but Galliani dismissed the rumours in an interview with Sky Sports.
“De Rossi? It’s impossible,” he stated bluntly.
City have long been linked with the De Rossi, with boss Roberto Mancini understood to be a huge fan of his compatriot.
The Premier League Champions saw their interest in the 29-year-old rebuffed by Roma over the summer and landed Jack Rodwell from Everton for £12m instead.
But Mancini’s interest in the Italy international has not waned and he is understood to be ready to return with a bid for De Rossi in January.
Roma are thought to be willing to listen to mega-offer for De Rossi but it remains to be seen if City will stump up the cash.
