Midfield
Things get tricky now as it is in midfield where these sides really have some world-class talent.
While City generally have four midfielders their London opponents operate with a 4-2-3-1 formation and fanatix has gone for the same.
In defensive midfield Yaya Toure is straight in the side, as quite possibly the best box-to-box player in the English top tier.
To partner the Ivorian there we have opted for Ramires, who is perhaps inconsistent but is ahead of the indifferent Jon Obi Mikel and Fernandinho and the aging Frank Lampard.
As for attacking midfield, the home side appear to have the greatest talent with six options and Eden Hazard and Juan Mata have taken two of the slots – another pair from the 2012/13 PFA Team of the Year.
For the final position Oscar has had a good season but needs to show it more consistently before inclusion, whilst Jesus Navas has been solid if unspectacular and Samir Nasri still has sloppy moments.
Therefore for all-round world-class ability David Silva gets the nod, as a supremely creative and skillful talent of which without City would be a much weaker outfit.
Attack
Unfortunately for Mourinho’s side the trio of Demba Ba, Samuel Eto’o and Fernando Torres have been unremarkable this campaign.
At the Etihad Stadium meanwhile new signing Stevan Jovetic has barely been given a chance and Edin Dzeko has been average.
Alvaro Negredo has looked sharp and has a great work ethic, but for sheer goal-scoring ability Sergio Aguero is given the lone striker role in this team.
