Attacker’s future in the north west still very much open to debate.
Unsettled Manchester United front man Wayne Rooney has held a secret meeting with the new Red Devils head coach David Moyes in an effort to clear the air ahead of the upcoming Premier League season, according to exclusive reports in the Sun.
The England international has been the subject of intense speculation of late linking the player with a big-money move away from Old Trafford when the summer transfer window reopens for business on July 1 after reportedly handing in a transfer request towards the end of the previous campaign.
Those claims, however, have been hotly disputed by the striker himself and now Rooney has had face-to-face talks with the man who handed him his top-flight debut while the pair worked together at Everton more than ten years ago.
And it is thought that Moyes is determined to keep the attacker, who netted just 16 goals in his 36 appearances in all competitions for the Premier League champions last season, rather than let Rooney join a rival in either England or on the Continent this summer.
