Star man has been dogged by fitness issues for his entire career.
Both Arsenal and England have been given a massive boost with the news that key midfield player Jack Wilshere is on course to return to pre-season training with the Gunners later this summer, reports the Sunday Mirror.
The skilful England international has been troubled by an ongoing ankle injury for the past two years now and had an operation at the end of the previous campaign to have a screw removed from the problem area, with the procedure reportedly a success.
That now means the 21-year-old is set to take part in pre-season training with the north London club along with the rest of his team-mates on July 4, which will be a big relief to both Arsenal head coach Arsene Wenger, as well as his Three Lions counterpart Roy Hodgson.
Wilshere made 33 appearances in all competitions for the Gunners in the previous campaign, registering two goals and six assists in the process, and now both club and country will be praying that is the end of the playmaker’s injury woe.
