Ten players hoping for a better second season with their clubs.10) Mamadou Sakho (Liverpool)
A £15m signing from Paris Saint-Germain last summer, Mamadou Sakho certainly arrived at Liverpool with the expectation that he would become a top player for the club in defence. However, injuries have halted his progress so far, and the Frenchman only managed 18 Premier League appearances in total, looking unconvincing in many of his games. Still, after a full season to adapt to life in England, there’s no reason Sakho can’t still become the rock-solid centre-back that he looked like at PSG. Still only 24, this could and should still go down as a good long-term addition for the Reds.
