Michael Jackson extends O2 residency into 2010

Promoters AEG have confirmed that King of Pop Michael Jackson is to extend his residency at London's O2 Arena beyond it's initial 30 nights and into January of 2010.

Fans will now have the opportunity to see the singer perform across seven extra concertsbeginningJanuary 7th. The number of Michael Jackson concerts at London's O2 Arena may rise further still as the unprecedented demand for tickets shows no sign of slowing.

The announcement follows the dramatic sell out of the entire allocation of Michael Jackson presale tickets yesterday afternoon (March 11). The release of tickets for the initial 30 date residency brought an unprecedented number of Michael Jackson fans to the online box office attempting to secure their Michael Jackson tickets for the forthcoming This Is It tour.

The presale release however did not run as smoothly as planned as websites were unable to support the demand and crashed, leaving thousands of fans empty-handed. Fans who had registered for the O2 presale but experienced 'frustrating delays' today received an apology from promoters AEG.

While many genuine Michael Jackson fans were forced to go without Michael Jackson tickets, some fans decided to list their Michael Jackson tickets on the resale market no sooner had they bought them. Michael Jackson tickets are currently being sold for as much as £300 each - more than four times value. In some cases, top Michael Jackson tickets are being listed for as much as £1000 each
