LCD Soundsystem to retire: Current tour is last ever

When Justine Henin retired from tennis in May 2008, it shocked the world. She was the first ever to bow out as the world number one tennis player, but she will not be the only person to call it quits at the top of their game.

LCD Soundsystem, the esteemed New York producer James Murphy's project, are a fantastic dance-punk act, and have recorded three superb albums. Murphy has elected to retire at the top though, and following the band's tour, LCD Soundsystem will be no more.

They have just five live UK appearances remaining - all at festivals. The first is in three days' time at Glastonbury, with Wireless Festival, Reading and Leeds Festivals, and Bestival to follow.

LCD Soundsystem actually headline Wireless Festival on Saturday July 3rd 2010, with 2manydjs, Snoop Dogg and Missy Elliott providing able support - alongside a host of other stars.

Wireless Festival tickets are on sale for all three days of the festival, with Saturday tickets currently trading for £47.50 from SeeTickets.
