Kings of Leon firming up details of documentary

Kings Of Leon are firming up details about their new documentary film 'Talihina Sky: The Story Of Kings Of Leon'.

Initially seen as a Southern counterpart to The Strokes, comparisons with 70s rockers such as Creedence Clearwater Revival seemed unavoidable.

However the band brushed aside these influences to become something different. NowKings Of Leon are one of the biggest rock bands around, sizing up an enormous stadium tour this summer, with stadium sized anthems in their later albums played live along with the country influenced earlier stuff.

Cementing their position in the UK, the Followills are also making massive inroads across their native United States. Inviting a director on tour, the decision has resulted in a potentially fascinating documentary.

'Talihina Sky: The Story Of Kings Of Leon' was put together by director Stephen C Mitchell and covers the band's entire career. Speaking to the New York Times, the film maker explained that the documentary is a "fascinating insight for fans and non-fans about a group of musicians who will never forget their strict Pentecostal upbringing or rough-and-tumble back-country roots".

The film is due to have is premiere in New York later this month. Pride of place at the Tribeca Film Festival, 'Talihina Sky: The Story Of Kings Of Leon' does not yet have an official release date.
