Justin Bieber's hair sells for $40,000 on Ebay

One lock of Justin Bieber's hair has fetched more than $40,000 in an Ebay auction that closed last night.

After 98 bids, the hair was finally sold for $40,668.00, just under £30,000.

Bieber gave the hair to talk show host Ellen DeGeneres after cutting off his famous locks in late February. DeGeneres then put the locks up for auction to raise money for animal rescue charity, Gentle Barn.

Popstar Bieber, who turned 17 on Tuesday, has a huge UK tour scheduled including three dates at London's O2 Arena.
